The book

Just like last year we had to construct a decorative sketchbook of all of our work from the year. I like the way this one looks in comparison to the book I made last year. This book is cleaner and brighter And more happy. I like to look through and see the work I did over months and months.

The Time Capsule

In the earlier months of the school year, we were given white carboard boxes and an objective. We were to bring in things little things like trinkets and our favorite food rappers, the name of our current favorite song. We would put all these things in the box and tape it up at the end of the year and make it into a peice of art. I plan to open this box in 15 years or something and read the letter I wrote myself, and remember and laugh and learn. I decided to cover my box in newspaper and use the color off tissue paper. I drew all over the box things that make me smile they make me happy. I drew turtle and fish and flowers and song lyrics. I want to remember and the little things that makes me happy.

Reminiscing

My favorite memories as a kid were always at the park. Not on the swings or the slide or the seesaw, but walking in the woods, the running in the garden. I would listen to the kids laughing and feel the grass with my toes. I played with the butterflies worms skipped rope and listen to the beat. You could say I liked to be alone. I would always climb these big rocks and scrape my knees never really healed. The way the trees look just made the world feels a big. And the way the air felt, cool, comforting, it made me feel I could touch the sky. I can feel it now. I go back to those memories when I'm feeling suffocated, by work, family, my friends. I sit and try to feel the cool air surround me and imagine the grass on my toes, wishing I could drop everything and go back to that time and watch the clouds.

Art x3

We did a interactive art project, our topic was celebrity. We started with a paper of our choice and create a workable background for someone else to portray their message about celebrity wether negative or positive. We would switch at at random 3 times and be left to create a final peice off of that. This was really fun and probably my favorite project so far this year. I was left with a pink background of glossy collaged pictures of shoes and I thought it was a great background to make my peice.

Pop print

For this project we did an Andy Warhol inspired project using stamp pads and printing ink. The first assignment for this project was to bring in something blue. I brought in a mascara, we first drew the object on a peice of paper keeping aware of how wide the lines had to but to get the carving instrument to carve wide and deep enough hole to print clearly. Finnally we mixed colors and patterns to create multiple prints. This was fun and easy, alittle tedious at points but worth it.

collections

In our art class we were asked to bring in 2 blue things for our class collection. I think our collection says a lot about this time period. This is all stuff we use in our everyday lives. There are book marks, phone cases, perfume, gum, and all sorts of other things. I think that this collection doesn't reflect my personal interests but i think that these kinds of collection take things from regular life that you begin to not notice or things you see regularly and those are the symbols of our time period. We were inspired  by Portia Munson http://portiamunson.com/installations/pink-project.html her color collections are fun and eyecatching.

I collect..

I collect lots of things like ;clothes, jewelery, nail polishes, magazines, pictures of little things that make me smile, calenders, funky pillows, and handbags. I wouldn't really call my collections artwork, they're just things that I like. My collection shows that I think little things can change a whole ora of a space or your physical appearance, I collect a lot of conversation starters. There are a lot of artist that use collecting to make art, i feel that all of my things have a special place and order. I think its interesting to see how other people like to see the world and how they catagorize things. One of the most famous collection artists is Portia Munson. http://portiamunson.com/installations/pink-project.html I think her collections are interesting a eye catching because you really see all different values of color and its a different experience from every angel and distance.
